Speaks-With-Silver felt not a little anxiety as he prepared to embark upon his first Dark Brotherhood mission, his first contract. Since he had left the Leyawiin sacntuary, every step he took had only served to increase his discomfiture. It wasn't that he was about to kill someone - indeed two someones, Speaks had killed before, and without even the incentive of a reward. No, Speaks was merely worried that he was going to mess up somehow, be caught, kill the wrong person. The possibility of that occuring was what was making Speaks so nervous.
Of course, Speaks had not worn his hood and armour out on this mission, that would have been sheer idiocy. This would not require stealth, this would require guile and cunning. Of course, there would be some who would sneak into a house and murder one or more of the targets in their sleep, or even forgoe the bonus and just hack their way through the village, but Speaks liked to do things with a little... finesse. Deception was much more satisfying than simply murdering somebody, and he would be aided by the fact that one of the targets was a fellow Argonian.
Speaks grinned and looked down at the peaceful village. They simply would not know what had hit them.

After wandering into the village, it wasn't long before Speaks was spotted by one of its inhabitants. After all, it was the middle of the day - Speaks presumed that this would be the time they would be taking a break from farming, it being the hottest part of the day. He had seen a few well-tended allotments from his scouting position earlier, and had deliberately planned to arrive at the busiest time.
The one who noticed Speaks was a fellow Argonian, seated in the shadows of a large tree, relaxing after a hard day's work - yet prepared to return for more after his rest. The villager smiled upon spotting Speaks and called out to him.
"Greetings stranger!" the Argonian said. "What brings you to our village?"
Speaks plans to murder your leaders.
"This one has come here to try find somewhere to stay for a night, possibly more. It depends how his travel plans pan out," the Argonian nodded sagely.
"There is an inn here: Sen-Naus runs the business side of things, and Fr'jai handles the beds and that kind of stuff." Speaks hesitated before replying, then, sensing an opportunity for information, spoke up.
"Speaks has heard of this village: Harmony, before. He is interested to meet those who have managed to keep Khajiit and Argonian living without conflict," the other smiled in recognition.
"Meer-Aj leads we Argonians, he is my older brother, I could introduce you if that's what you want. Perhaps tonight? But if you are after Kijia, the Khajiit ruler, then you had best try her early. Around now, she is swamped with all of those in the village, wanting to talk with her, and in the afternoons, she holds sessions with Meer-Aj to resolve any conflicts. Then, in the evening, she takes many long walks with her fiance, that is Tkar. It would be better to try Kijia tomorrow,"
Speaks, inside, was laughing triumphantly. This was perfect, just perfect! He had only wanted but a little information, and already he had received an open invitation to meet one of the targets personally and practically a schedule for the other! The whole contract was falling right into his lap.
"Speaks would very much like to meet your brother, when should he stop by?"
"Late evening would be best. Come here, if anybody questions, say Kae-Ja told you to come. Oh, if you would like to get in my brother's good graces, bring alcohol," Kae-Ja winked, and Speaks chuckled, shook his head, and began to walk away.
"This one will see you later Kae-Ja,"
"'Till then, Speaks,"

Later that day, Speaks sent a bottle of wine, along with an apology, to the house of Meer-Aj, explaining that, regretfully, he would not be able to attend the gathering that evening, as he had to leave Harmony due to 'pressing business'. It had cost him a little: Tamika vintage 415 did not come cheap, but overall, Speaks was sastified. Of course, it wasn't poisoned. Not only would that be (in Speaks' view) crude and lacking subtlety, but it carried a large risk of killing others, and if Speaks wanted to earn his bonus, then he simply coudn't afford that happening. Hopefully, by the time Speaks dropped by Meer-Aj's place, he and those with him would have succumbed to the sleeping drug Speaks had doctored the wine with.
Speaks was going to deal with Kijia first, and he knew exactly how he was going to do it. It was evil, and Speaks knew that he would enjoy what he was about to do. Currently, the Argonian was in concealment, hiding alongside a winding path which cut through the woods near Harmony. In front of him was a bench, carved into the back of which was a love heart. Speaks thought it was the most likely place to encounter Kijia and Tkar. Sure enough, a pair of Khajiit came walking along the path before too long, hand in hand, with the male of the couple carrying a short sword at his side.
Perfect...
Both of them, at length, reached where Speaks was hiding, and after a tense moment, both sat down on the bench, and waited there, apparently deep in conversation. Stealthily, Speaks approached from behind them, aimed carefully with his hands, and loosed a spell at Tkar. The spell hit, and the Khajiit suddenly roared with rage, leapt from his seat, pulled out his sword, and, in one smooth movement, stabbed Kijia in the chest, killing her. Speaks was filled with exhilaration at the success of his plan, and watched with delight as Tkar blinked, his eyes coming back into focus, looked at the bloody sword in his hand, then at his fiance, before yowling with grief. Speaks left just as a pair of villagers came sprinting along the path to see what all the fuss was about.
Speaks snuck into the village as fast as he could after causing Tkar to kill Kijia. He quickly found his way to Meer-Aj's house, the very place where he had spoken to Kae-Ja earlier that day. The door, thankfully, was unlocked. Upon entering, Speaks saw no fewer than five Argonians, including Kae-Ja, sprawled unconcious across chairs and sofas, empty bottles of wine and drained glasses strewn everywhere. One of them bore a passing resemblance to Kae-Ja, and was wearing an amulet, which seemed to be some sort of symbol of office. Speaks presumed that this was his target, Meer-Aj.
The Argonian wanted to make this death look like a tragic accident, made doublely sad by the murder of Kijia on that very same day. There weren't many things Speaks could do: he couldn't organise a fall, because it would look suspicious, he didn't appear to be carrying any weapons, and he seemed well and hale. Speaks paused for a moment, looking over the dozing Argonians, then his eyes lit up as he spotted something lying on the table in the centre of the room. A sweet roll, untouched.
Carefully, Speaks negotiated his way through the limbs and tails of the Argonians, and picked up the roll, before breaking it in half, making sure to do so over Meer-Aj, to make it look like he had been eating, by scattering crumbs. Speaks put half of the sweet roll in Meer-Aj's hand, then took up the other half, and jammed it down his throat. Speaks held it there for a while, and Meer-Aj choked... then fell still. The Argonian grinned: to anybody unaware of the circumstances, it would appear he had simply choked...
Speaks stood there and smiled, then turned on his heel and left, leaving Harmony, never to return.
