Time was short and my patience was hanging by a thread, my hate for the Nine and love of Sithis was the only thing capable of keeping me sane while I acted as a traveling merchant along the way towards Layawiin. While I was on Mortus I would begin mumbling non-since to myself just like I did as a child. I was going to Layawiin on personally matters. I had told Ralen, not to follow me for things may go either way. I pray to Sithis that I don’t run into Speaker M’aiq while I’m in Layawiin for the brief time.
I am perfectly aware that I’m a stand-in for another Speaker of the Black Hand, but this was different. This was a family matter that needed to be taken care of.
My traveling to Layawiin was short in the long run, no unnecessary lives were sent into the Void by my blade. However, while I was arriving to Layawiin’s City Gates I saw a young Dunmer male leading a contingent of Imperial Legion soldiers into the city. The young dunmer looked very familiar to me, but it was only a brief look. So I dismounted off of Mortus and lead him into the cities stables were he will be staying until my return. As I was placing Mortus into the stables I received a better look at the commander’s face. It was my brother GABERIAL! I haven’t seen Gaberial in nearly sixty years… I was dressed in my mage clothing when I had arrived at Layawiin. So I placed a smile on my face as I approached my brother’s back. Until I was suddenly stopped by an Imperial Soldier.
“You sir stop there! You will not approach our commander at this time.” Said the Imperial Soldier.
To say the least I was rather surprised, that this soldier even had the nerve to say this to me. I had tried to speak in my defense but was stopped short again as the soldier spoke again.
“And who may I ask are you anyway?” Asked the soldier. Ah, an answer I’m allowed to answer without being killed for…
“My name is Thanatos Crohaven, Wizard of the Mages Guild, and I am here to speak with my brother Gaberial Crohaven, if you don’t mind!” I replied.
At this point Gaberial turned and looked at who was speaking at the time it was I. Once he looked at me I could tell he was happy to see me. To my surprise however he stepped towards me to hug me, not that I was disgusted by this, but in front of other males!
“My brother Thanatos, I thought I heard your voice! I’m so happy to see you after these many years!” Exclaimed Sir Gaberial.
“Come, my men are about to eradicate this city of assassins, in the name of our fallen Emperor! Come and drink mead with me in the tavern as my men ‘work’ and we share our stories with each other.” Said Sir Gaberial
All I could do at this point was nod my head in agreement with my brother, he seemed so enthusiastic about his line of work in the Legion. He lead in his men into the city with me at his side, once inside he divided his men into three groups, and then before I knew it, it was just Gaberial and myself sitting at a tavern table with tankards of mead in our hands.
“Well my brother how have you been for these past sixty years, I can see you’ve done well for yourself, you seem blessed by the Nine.” Said Sir Gaberial
It was my brother what could I do besides tell him, some-what of the truth, and my feeling towards his gods, I spit on the Nine! “I spit on the Nine, Gaberial! They have done nothing but curse me ever since I left Morrowind. So I adopted a new religion, a religion that I know the gods are real, and a religion that doesn’t really have ‘commands’ like your does.” I said to Gaberial.
I could tell by his facial expression that he was surprised at my words, but no matter it was how I felt deep down in my bowls.
“So, you’re a worshipper of the Daedric Princes!? I am ashamed of you brother, I would at least think of you Worshipping the Tribunal Temple still as mother did…Perhaps you should come to the temple with me one day, and show you how the Nine truly do bless its worshippers.” Said Sir Gaberial
I was disgusted with of what he just asked of me. To go into a chapel of the Nine Divines is just blasphemy to me, I wouldn’t even make it past the archway in the chapel’s entry for I would burst into flames on the very steps of the chapel!
“NO! I will not join you in a chapel brother for I would rather burn in oblivion or even the Void!” I exclaimed.
Perhaps I shouldn’t have said that last part, for most members of the legion watch for the word ‘void’ in a person’s speech… May Sithis have mercy on my soul…
“I’m sorry you feel that way brother, but don’t take me as a naïve fool when I hear the word void when spoken in a religion conversation, for I am well aware for your assassin exploits dear brother, I am well aware you are a member of the Dark Brotherhood! But as your brother I will not personally arrest you for this…GET HIM BOYS!” Said Sir Gaberial
The next thing I remember is getting bashed in the back of the head with the hilt of a sword, and I falling unconscious… Just lovely…

((Last, or next to last thread with Shikura. Time-warped, but I've got loose ends to tie up before she goes away. Can we pretend Kura and Gab never met?))
Khajiits lived in Leyawiin, so it wasn't surprising to see one in tavern, a mug of what seemed to be ale clutched in her claws/paws/hands.
The Imperial City had became a place of danger to Shikura. The officials were getting suspicious of her, especially after that little period in the Imperial prison. It was only with the luck of Khajiits, a few bribes, and a few well-chosen words on the right ears that had gotten her out, as well as her being....well, herself.
It seemed that people asking question didn't like being asked whether or not they like warm sands.
Perhaps by escaping from the Imperial City Shikura was just laying more suspicion on herself. Still, she planned to return to Valenwood soon. It seemed that Ralen wasn't here, or in Morrowind, and Shikura was beginning to miss her Bosmer family.
Immersed in her thoughts, Shikura paid no heed to the Imperials that just came in.
Still, it was rather hard, even for a Khajiit like her, not to look up when a yell of "GET HIM BOYS!" sounded.
Really. People these days. So inconsiderate.
Still, Shikura's interest was perked. The Imperial on the ground looked so....sad lying there, like a limp rag doll she had once seen. Perhaps he had news about her dear Bosmer sister! And there were so many Imperials here! She would be a fool or a favoured of Sheogorath not to take an oppurtunity like this!
Well, perhaps it was dangerous for her to confront a guard, but guards saw a lot. Less than thieves, but still.
Her dear Bosmer sister made a point to avoid fellow thieves after her 'departure' from the Thieves Guild after all.
Setting her mug down, Shikura got up unsteadily, her heart pounding. Padding forward, she wondered if she was really insane. But it would look suspicious if she sat down now...
Coughing politely to attract the attention of the Imperial who seemed to be ordering around, Shikura tilted her head slightly. She must be insane. Oh well.
"Excuse this humble Khajiit sir, but what had just happened?" Shikura asked politely.

((No problem, that whole incident never happened.)) Sir Gaberial was rather pleased with himself once he saw his brother's unconscious body slam against the tavern's table. But, the thought of this being his brother, his own kin no less. This thought was rather disturbing to him but this had to be done, so he thought, Thanatos needed to be an example to other assassins in Cyrodiil. That the Imperial Legion means business to stop these assassins at any cost.
"Alright, boys put this man in manacles, and haul him to the cities dungeon, for I fear more assassins my be larking in the shadows to help their fallen comrade, so be on your guard." Said Sir Gaberial with a smile of victory.
Sir Gaberial thought to himself of the repercautions of what might happen to him once word spead accross Cyrodiil, but no matter he would deal with that when it comes. He was about to leave the tavern following his men to the castle until he heard "Excuse this humble Khajiit sir, but what had just happened?" from a civilian of Layawiin. So he decided to answer this question with the Imperial Legions finest quote.
"Do not fear fellow citizen of the empire, we just arrested a high ranking member of the renowned group of assassins known as the Dark Brotherhood...But to tell the truth his name is Thanatos Crohaven, he is my twin brother, he has faltered and brought shame to my family's name by having the reputation that he has as an assassin. However, with him arrested and in the hands of the Imperial Legion the citizens of Layawiin and slightly safer..."Replied Sir Gaberial.
After saying this Sir Gaberial sighed to himself and mumbled to himself saying "I will mourn for him, once he is executed..."
After such answer Sir Gaberial turned away from the citizen and began to leave the tavern.

"Please, wait!" Shikura yelled, moving forward with a speed that surprised even herself. "Please, Sir, wait!"
Skidding to a halt beside the commander, Shikura looked up, tears almost in her eyes. "Please, please sir, have you seen Shikura's dear Bosmer sister? Her name is Ralen." Shikura spoke loudly. Very loudly, in fact, loud enough for anyone around her to hear.
"Sh-Shikura has...almost given up hope of finding her ever again." This time, the words were almost inaudible. It was only now that she spoke them did she realize that they were true.
At least Shikura was sure Ralen wasn't an assassin, and she wouldn't need to see her dear Bosmer sister get executed for being a member of this 'Dark Brotherhood'. Oh yes, Shikura had heard rumours about them, everyone had, but being a member of the Thieves Guild, she knew more than most.
"Th-This Khajmer is sorry about your brother though." There was a note of true sincerity in Shikura's raspy Khajiit voice, with just a hint of a Bosmer lilt to it. "Shikura knows what it is like to lose a sibling....But...." Her shoulders slumped. "Sh-Shikura is afraid that she has no idea what it would feel like if she were to find that Ralen was an assassin, working for the Dark Brotherhood."
And yet, Shikura knew....Some sense of unease.....Some small twinge....
Shikura knew. Ralen had a dark side....Psychopathic tendencies, one could almost say....
And yet.....
Ralen would never sink to be an assassin, would she?
She wouldn't. Not ever. Shikura believed that.
And yet....

Sir Gaberial stopped dead in his tracks when he heard the citizen beg for him to stop. He heard when she had to say to him, and even he was moved by this. The lost of a loved one was great, but in Thanatos's case it was the law.
But Sir Gaberial thought for a moment about the name Ralen, then it hit him, he recognized the name from the Dark Brotherhood file he has. He can tell this women was on a mission to find her lost sister but, Sir Gaberial didn't know where she was.
"I'm sorry miss, but I'm afraid I don't know where she is. She could be anywhere in the provence or anywhere else in the entire empire for that matter, so I'm sorry, but I can't help you..." Said Sir Gaberial
Lucky, the men carrying Thanatos haven't left the tavern yet, and within a few moments Thanatos woke up from being knocked out by his brother's men.
Thanatos looked at the women, and saw similarities between her and Ralen. Then Thanatos put the thought together, this 'khajmer' as she called herself was Ralen's sister. However, knowing he could help her, he needed to get out of here. Also knowing Gaberial can hear rather well he decided to focus his thoughts into Shirukra's mind and saying:
"My name is Thanatos Crohaven, I mean no harm to you at all, but if you can help me escape the hands of the Legion I can tell you where to find your beloved bosmer sister Ralen, whom I personally know."
While Gaberial was busy with the citizen, Thanatos hoped she would help him, and in return, true to his word, he would tell her where he sister was, and basically everything else about her.

Sunaru stepped into the guild hall in Leyawiin.
After three days of searching around Leyawiin, he was worn out and angry. Three days earlier Sunaru had met with another Mage's guild member, a lower ranking one in fact, and the member 'thought' he saw some necromancers in a cave near Leyawiin. Of course the member had no idea of the name of the cave, nor did he remember specificly where it was, yet Sunaru was determined to find the "Cave full of necromancers". Sunaru never did find it and, three days later, he found out there was no cave.
Sunaru looked around the mages guild and spotted the man who pulled the trick off.
Sunaru went up to him and calmly asked him why he lied. Of course, the man refused to admit he did pulled any tricks.
Sighed and gave up so he started heading to the inn and his mind began to wonder... Why do I always find the most anoyying people...? Or why do I always get in trouble instead of others? I do nothing wrong...
Sunaru entered the inn, his mind still wandering.
I wonder wha- As Sunaru entered the inn he tripped over a man on the floor and hit face first to the floor.
(( I wasn't too sure if you were being dragged on the floor or not. ))

((He was dragged.)) I had just, sent a message to that women, and I hope for a response soon. My brother Gaberial is bulking my work in his own way. For I am an Assassin for the Dark Brotherhood, and it is my duty to save the Brotherhood even at the cost of kin. If need be I would kill my brother and his ilk for my Dread Father.
But this man, who entered the tavern, this face is new to me. I don't recall but, I may have seen his face at the Arcane University but, his face is too new for me to remember fully.
However, carrying on. I'm in a rather tight predicament, if I do say so myself. I'm being dragged on the floor by what seems two undercover Imperial Agents, I'm restrained by manacles, and then theres my brother Gaberial. The commander of the regiment within the city.
What I needed to do was get out of here alive, for I fear my destiny is not this. The Dread Father has something else in stored for me, something dark, but not this.
I pray to the Night Mother that the women will help me, but I fear she won't because of the Imperials. Perhaps the Dread Father, has something in stored for her as well, mayber, just maybe...

What in Tamriel just happened?
Sunaru rose from the floor quickly and glared at what seemed the leader of this 'Oh so protective' group. Sunaru had had enough of this nonsense that seemed to follow him around, and he began to wonder where was his luck this past week? Ahh, well, he would visit a temple later on...
Sunaru tucked the thought away and faced the matter at hand, "What's going on here?!?", Sunaru yelled quite fiercely.

Well if it wasn't obvious enough, I've been manacled by the Imperial legion, but I decided to let my brother tell him 'his' side of what happened.
"Fear not citizen, for the Imperial Legion has captured an ranking member of of the renowned group of assassins known as the Dark Brotherhood...We are also here in this city to find more assassins like him, and bring them to justice." Said Sir Gaberial
Well that was the brother's side of the story, he had failed to mention that I'm his twin brother to this one. But no matter I'm sure that small fragment of detail is not needed to convince an normal citizen such as this one.
Personally I would be trying to save my skin right about now, I'm willing to wait until they take me out the door before I start killing the guards that have me in their arms...
However, I swear in the name of the Dread Father, Gaberial will pay with his life for what he has done to me this day.

Subaru looked down at the man on the ground then up at the leader, something seemed...odd.
"Oh ok, first, who are you, and second, who is this 'member' of the 'dark brotherhood'?"
Sunaru kept looking down at the man on the floor and back to the leader, what was so mysterious? Their faces...? No, no, they can't be related. One brother wouldn't arrest the other...I think...
Ahh well, perhaps I should let them pass, I wouldn't mind something to eat...Once they answer me I'll let them pass. Yes, yes, that will do, besides I need to get back to the Arcane University to report what happened with that anoyying kid...

"Oh ok, first, who are you, and second, who is this 'member' of the 'dark brotherhood'?"
Those are the words that Sir Gaberial heard before he actually took his time to look down upon Thanatos and realized that he was awake. However, before he replied to the man he cleared his throat and then sighed to himself.
"I am Sir Gaberial Crohaven, Knight Bachelor of the Imperial Legion and Commander of Fort Blue Blood, south-east of here in county Layawiin and, this man here on the ground(As Gaberial gestures towards Thanatos.) is Thanatos Crohaven. My twin brother, and he is a high ranking member of the feared group of assassins known as the 'Dark Brotherhood'." Replied Sir Gaberial.
All Thanatos could do at this point was smile to himself, because he knew one way or another he was going to get out of here alive. He didn't know quit how he was going to accomplish this, but in the name of Sithis he would!
Yes, Sir Gaberial had his good moments, at times but, it was now Thanatos's turn...
"Yes, what he says is true, Gaberial and I are twins. But, he lies when he says I'm a member of the Dark Brotherhood... Do I honestly look like an assassin to you?! I swear to you, if you ask the Arch-Mage at the Arcane University, he will tell you otherwise!" Protested Thanatos
"I'm sorry, my Lord but, I needed to say that so I may continue your will..." Thanatos thought to himself.

They're brother's!?
Strangely enough, Sunaru had the urge to burst out laughing, and of course he fought that urge, fore he knew it would be embarrassing and it may just anger Sir Gaberial. Sunaru just stood there, thinking of what to reply to that with.
What kind of person puts their brother in jail? Well, perhaps if he was an assassin...Sunaru looked at Thanatos... Do I know him? Is he familiar looking? Perhaps he's from the Arcane Univer-
Sunaru's thoughts were interrupted by Thanatos. "Yes, what he says is true, Gaberial and I are twins. But, he lies when he says I'm a member of the Dark Brotherhood... Do I honestly look like an assassin to you?! I swear to you, if you ask the Arch-Mage at the Arcane University, he will tell you otherwise!"
I knew it!
Sunaru looked up to Sir Gaberial, "Sir, you are making a mistake, your brother is from the mages guild, I remember seeing him at the Arcane University. I believe he is a some-what high ranking member."
(( Thanatos is or at least was in the mages guild, right? ))

((Correct, Thanatos is a Wizard in the Mage's Guild.)) "Sir, you are making a mistake, your brother is from the mages guild, I remember seeing him at the Arcane University. I believe he is a some-what high ranking member."
With those words, Sir Gaberial just suddenly stared at Sunaru dead in the eyes for many moments. Sir Gaberial was puzzled at this. Why would a complete stranger help an assassin? Was he mad? It seems he surly wasn't. Perhaps he was confused with another person that looked like Thanatos. Then again the only person that looked like Thanatos was himself... Very odd situation indeed thought Sir Gaberial.
"Well, what proof do you have that says he is a member of the Mage's Guild? Also, what proof do you have that says you are not a fellow assassin trying to save the life of this man?" Sir Gaberial ask with curiosity.
To be perfectly honest Sir Gaberial doesn't really have proof saying Thanatos is a member of the Dark Brotherhood or for that matter an assassin at all. He only heard rumors from other soldiers in the Imperial Legion...
As Sir Gaberial thought and considered this mans story against his own. This man has more proof, saying Thanatos isn't an assassin than Sir Gaberial saying he is, and as the Imperial law states 'one must have proof of accusation of the said accused before fine or prison time or even death is given'...
"May the Nine save us all.." Thought Sir Gaberial to himself.

Shikura let out a yelp of surprise, which she swiftly disguised as a cough. Then she got a sudden urge to sneeze, and was interrupted by a series of very real coughs, with the result that she was half-choking to death. Who could blame her though? It wasn't everyday a mysterious voice talked to you in your dratted furry brain.
When she finally recovered enough breath to speak, well, wheeze more like, she ducked her head in a rather sheepish way. "This Khajmer is truly sorry. Shikura's apologies."
She noticed, with a touch of irritation, that yet another had joined their little party. Augh, non-Khajiits and non-Bosmer these days. So....impolite. Especially those oh-so-superior mages....
But perhaps the one on the ground was an exception. He did offer to help Shikura find her dear Bosmer sister after all....Surely an assassin wouldn't be that good...?
She listened with a trace of boredom as the Imperial commander introduced himself all over again. Oh well. At least now she knew the commander's name. Gaberial? Sounded like....Gabriella. And Shikura was fairly certain that it was a female name.
Odd Imperials.
"Sir, you are making a mistake, your brother is from the mages guild, I remember seeing him at the Arcane University. I believe he is a some-what high ranking member."
Fool. Mages could be as--
No, Shikura would not think that. This...Thanatos must be innocent, and it was all a misunderstanding. She had to believe that.
Hoping that it will work, although she doubted it, Shikura thought as fiercely as she could, What must Shikura do? And how do you know of Ralen?

"What must Shikura do? And how do you know of Ralen?"
Music to my ears/mind if I do say so myself. She must of conjured up a large amount of brain power to do that. Oh well back to the matter at hand...
I focused my thoughts again back into her mind and I said in reply. "You must convince my brother Gaberial that I am not an assassin of the Dark Brotherhood...I know Ralen because we had a conversation about you, not to long ago in fact..."
Just by seeing Gaberial's face I could tell he was either partly or fully convinced that I wasn't a member of the Dark Brotherhood. Oh what a fool my brother is believing this. Besides he has no proof that I am one, I don't any evidence once I make 'the kill'.
